New Picture of Emma and Bradley Cooper + short interview with PEOPLE

Bradley Cooper's character falls for Emma Stone's in the upcoming romantic comedy Aloha – and the pair's chemistry translates offscreen, as well.

PEOPLE caught up with the pals in London for a story in this week's issue and asked what their most marketable assets would be if they were to craft Tinder profiles for one another. Apparently, it's all about the eyes!

Cooper, 40, got downright poetic talking about his costar's peepers: "[Her] reptilian eyes take you into a kind place, soft and lovely and full of grace."

For her part, Stone, 26, playfully reads even more into Cooper's baby blues – including takeout preferences – telling PEOPLE: "Look at those blue [eyes]. He’s into Chinese food, but he’s equally into making you smile."

While they had some fun joking about it, both say they aren't on the dating app – though Easy A alum Stone has done some swiping of her own.

"My friend is [on Tinder], and I’ve swiped for her," she says. "That was a good time."

Aloha – in which Cooper and Stone appear alongside a starry cast including Rachel McAdams, John Krasinski, Alec Baldwin and Bill Murray – hits theaters May 29.

Cabaret. “Seeing Emma in the musical and her being part of this Liza legacy, I got really inspired by the ’70s jumpsuits and tuxedo dresses,” says Flannery of Stone’s four-month Broadway run. For the SAG Awards, that meant putting Stone in a wildly chic Christian Dior tuxedo gown with a sheer skirt. The Cabaret vibe also is carrying over into their street style: “I just want to wear big eyelashes and those bell bottoms,” says the actress, who next appears in Cameron Crowe’s Aloha. “And sequins!” adds Flannery. Replies Stone, “Bring it on!”

When Emily Jean Stone was 9 years old — long before she became Hollywood royalty as Emma Stone — she and her mother went to see the 1998 Broadway revival of “Cabaret” during one of their regular theater jaunts from Arizona. The show’s dark portrait of pre-World War II Berlin didn’t faze Ms. Stone; her father had raised her on repeated viewings of the prison film “The Shawshank Redemption,” after all. But the singing changed the way she imagined her future as a performer.

“Listening to Natasha Richardson, I realized you could be an actor in a musical and not have the perfect voice I’d heard on cast recordings,” Ms. Stone recalled of the production’s star.

“I don’t have this gorgeous untouchable voice, and it was Natasha who really lit a fuse under me to try musicals and play Sally someday,” she added of Richardson’s Tony Award-winning performance as the sensitive and increasingly desperate singer Sally Bowles.
